Digitally Divided?
In the January/February 2014 print issue of the Woodworker’s Journal, our contributing editor, Sandor Nagyszalanczy, authored an article on the many, many ways computers have infiltrated our shops. (The magazine will be out the last week of December.) That, along with the Industry Interview featured in today’s eZine, talking with the folks who make the CNC Shark and the new Ready2Rout, got me thinking. How ready are woodworkers to allow motherboards and silicon chips to start running things in their shop?
Now to me, CNC routers are just the latest “pro shop” tool that has migrated to the home shop. (Think mortising machines, cabinet saws, etc.) But what about you? Are you looking to allow a CNC router, laser engraver, computer-controlled router fence and who knows what else into your shop? If so, how come? And if not ― tell us more.
Send us your opinion via email … you know, that thing that eliminated snail mail!

Keeping Projects Right-Sized
In the last issue of the eZine, Rob’s editorial mentioned a few projects he’s built that were, shall we say, on the large side. It seems that’s not a small problem in the woodworking world.
